If there's one thing the film world needs, it's some other cinematic universe poised to compete with the success of Curiosity and Star Wars and DC Comics, right? Well, that'south what Universal thought when information technology released the universally panned The Mummy reboot, starring Tom Cruise, which was meant to launch a cinematic universe consisting of archetype monsters.

In the wake of the movie bomb, Universal pivoted, partnering with Blumhouse Productions to tell the other monster'south stories. Blumhouse, of course, is now The Proper noun™ in horror, with the company helming blockbuster series similar The Purge, Insidious and Happy Death Day. Needless to say, we're intrigued by this modern reimagining of the H.G. Wells classic, which stars Elisabeth Moss equally a vivid scientist and survivor who grapples with the supposed end of an abusive human relationship.
